Since we powered our first festival back in 2014, we’ve been collaborating closely with festival directors year after year to develop the most powerful, affordable and seamless array of managed internet services for festivals. We make wraparound products to power everything from the basics such as gates, vendors, bars and ticketing, to the more intense use cases, such as media offices, the production office, and custom guest WiFi for sponsored brand activations. We specialise in localised internet zones for critical festival functions, and up to 1,000 guest WiFi connections. Our products are all plug ’n’ play, with full live phone support and access to our unique Slipstream web app. It gives you live updates on your phone so you can put down that radio and see exactly what is happening across your whole festival network, site-wide.
After supporting thousands of events across the country, we’ve developed our newest range with all bases covered for the challenging festival environment. We’ve built in a range of redundant features for 99.99% uptime. Think multiple cellular internet connections (5G + 4G) from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone running simultaneously, with battery integrations to protect against electrical glitches. If you’re activating in an area with marginal cellular reception or expecting a huge crowd, consider adding your own Starlink dish to your PopUp WiFi unit for another layer of backup. We’ll bond the satellite to your cellular connections for another safety net.

Here's how it works...

1. Load in like a legend.
Simple plug ’n’ play installation means anyone can easily set WiFi up exactly where it needs to go. It just needs to be set up 4’-10’ off the ground and connected to regular AC power (40W). Either stand it up on something solid and open to the environment, or zip-tie your unit to a tent frame or truss to get the best signal strength and WiFi coverage range. We deliver two days early so you can set up and test all devices on the WiFi at least one day before your event. That way, our Support team can optimise your network before gates open to make sure you never miss a sale.

2. Launch Slipstream.
Skip to the answers and see exactly what is happening on your event network in real time, from any device, anywhere on or off your site. Scan the QR code on your unit or click the Slipstream link in your confirmation email to access your booking details – including all the on-ground essentials like network name and password – with live updates about the power status of all your units, so if there’s a power outage, you’ll know instantly. You can monitor the number of devices connected to each unit and monitor your data consumption in real time, without needing to move your feet!

3. Gates open.
Load on the local mobile tower can be at its highest and most unpredictable during the early hours of an event. You can rest assured that the bonded combination of cellular connections flowing through the Peplink routers inside your PopUp WiFi units will work together seamlessly to ride out the bumps during bump in. Feel free to text or call our Support team and let them know that your fans are arriving. They’ll keep a close eye on your network and can make powerful changes to address cellular fluctuations on the spot.

5. Performance perfection.
When the whole crowd has made it through the gates, that’s when the pressure is really on. Densely-packed groups of people strain the cellular networks and risk of failure is highest. That’s when the high-gain and ultra-high gain antennas in the PopUp WiFi units come into their own. Each unit has high-powered antennas that can grab a signal over a greater distance than the fan’s own phones, and our techs can choose the clearest radio channels to transmit your data, so congestion can’t take your internet down. 6. Support + Slipstream = Seamless.
We’ve designed Slipstream to complement our 24/7 live phone support to expedite troubleshooting with event tech when the heat is on. No one has a second to waste if there’s something funny happening with the event tech, and Slipstream helps you skip to the answers or get help faster. When you have several areas across a large site to manage, Slipstream lets you see big-picture and granular information about everything to do with you internet. And if you need help, just call.

7. Thank you and goodnight.
Make a quick getaway with the quickest pack down in town. Unplug the unit, replace the cord cover and coil the power cord. Then it’s just a matter of returning the unit to the box it came in, adding the included shipping label and having it ready for courier collection the business day following your event. Job done!
